Wedding bells can be massive or miniature!
Wedding bells are the traditional and stereotypical way of signifying
that a couple has “tied the knot,” “taken the plunge,” or any other
number of cliché sayings about weddings. The funny thing
is, wedding bells themselves have become something of a cliché
– have you ever had your grandmother ask if she hears wedding bells
in your future after bringing a significant other to meet her? –
but they transcend cliché and are still one of the most revered
and beloved signifiers of a happy union. Many churches still have
wedding bells that ring following a ceremony, but now even couples
who are married outside a church location include wedding bells
in their ceremony.
Wedding bells no longer even have to be the massive, traditional
version. If you are married outside, perhaps in a garden wedding
or by the ocean, you can have a friend with one single wedding bell
ring the wedding bell as you come back down the aisle and emerge
into your new life as a married couple. The most traditionally used
piece of music for that walk back down the aisle, the wedding fanfare,
has wedding bells included in most recordings of the piece, so if
you decide to use a pre-taped version you won’t even have to worry
about wedding bells! Of course, you don’t even have to have a wedding
bell in person to include them in your ceremony.
Wedding bells can be incorporated in the invitations, programs,
napkins, place cards, and more just to lend that traditional touch
to your special day. You can hang paper wedding bells in your reception
area to signify the traditional wedding bells. Still want the ringing
of wedding bells incorporated into your wedding or reception but
don’t know how you’ll get a wedding bell tower transported to the
location? Try having miniature wedding bells on each table and let
your guests use them in lieu of clinking their glasses to get a
kiss from you and your new partner!
