Celtic wedding bands are more personal
Celtic wedding bands accomplish that nebulous goal that
almost every soon-to-be fiancé has in his heart. Celtic wedding
bands are unique without being too outlandish, personal while maintaining
appeal, and all together beautiful. It’s no wonder Celtic bands
and rings have slowly increased in popularity over the last few
years, and it is perfectly understandable why they will likely continue
to do so.
Celtic bands, unlike some other cultures’ wedding rings, hold significance
from the time a woman is a little girl. The Claddagh, or the engagement
ring that is the precursor to Celtic bands, is given to little girls
early in life and all are expected to wear it until they receive
their Celtic bands from their husbands. The Claddagh is worn right-side
up throughout the girl’s early life, then when the girl becomes
engaged or married is turned upside-down and is matched with Celtic
wedding bands or rings to signify her new status.
Celtic bands in modern times are a way of bringing old world romance
into proceedings that have become increasingly less about the couple
and more about the celebration itself. Celtic bands allow fiancés
to acknowledge their significant others’ heritage. Beyond that,
many Celtic wedding bands offer men the chance to have a more ornate
ring of their own without including a huge number of gems or jewels.
